Segments

A segment is a named view of one site by path prefix. /docs includes /docs/api, not /docs-old. You keep one embed. You do not need another site.

Segments in Settings

Settings → Data → Segments. Also linked from Data Hub. On Overview, pills under the site name switch All and each segment. More than four segments become a dropdown.

Different hosts belong in groups, not a segment.

Add a segment

Add segment. Name it. Choose Paths or Everything else.

Paths takes prefixes, one per line. Overlaps resolve by list order. Drag to reorder. The earlier prefix wins.

Everything else is leftover traffic. One remainder per site. You can list extra paths to exclude from that remainder.

Cap is 10 per site. Removing a segment does not delete hits.

What it is not

The dashboard path filter is exact. Clicking /docs there does not include /docs/api. That is why segments exist.

Ignore rules hide traffic. They do not name the traffic you want to keep.
